Hi! I’m Lindsey.
I graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from Park University in 2016. I always I thought I’d be just about done with an M.A. in Literature by now, but I’m not! While I still see graduate school in my future, right now I’m working a day job while exploring my interests and trying to figure out what I have to offer the world.
I know I want to share stories and I want to connect with people. There are a lot of ways to potentially do that so this year is about exploration.
I’m spending most of my creative time exploring visual arts right now because it’s fun and therapeutic. I’m really enjoying painting (watercolors and gouache), paper crafts and greeting cards, and embroidery.
I’ve always considered myself a writer and my favorite author is Ursula K Le Guin. I mostly work on short fiction (a lot of sci-fi), personal essays, and poetry. I’m taking sort of a break from major writing projects—I got divorced this year and there’s only so much you can try to write before you get tired of looking at your own feelings already.
In my day-to-day, I like to walk, cook, bake, clean, and squabble with my cat, Bonkers. I bullet journal and I love it. I read a lot and watch Netflix like everyone else but I mostly watch nature documentaries. I love beers, drinking and making coffee, and book shopping. I try to write and/or make something three times a week.
Fun facts for free:
I have copies of Star Wars in a lot of absurd media formats and over 180 Star Wars EU novels. Once I was interviewed by CNN in a coffee shop so I was on national television for about 15 seconds.
Thanks for stopping by!
